Normal 14 month old calf temp

Gotta stot in field I'm keeping an eye on. Seems a bit too laid back. Going a bit slow and not bothered for feeding. Otherwise looks well. What would you say is normal temp for that age of beast. Weather been very hot today.

Temp 38.4 this morning so not an issue but he is last in/first out feed and he's walking stiffly. Anyone know what's causing him to walk stiffly, its very awkward looking and he's slow moving?

How's he getting on?
Has he had a multi-vitamin jab?
No he hasn't but iv spoken to the vet today and collected Draxxin to give him tonight to cover the possibility of Micoplasma bovis. (He did show signs of mild pneumonia 2 weeks ago and got alamycin but was never bad with it)

The vet will be on farm next Friday for routine work and wants to blood test him whilst here so hopefully the jag or the blood results will indicate what the problem is.

how do you take temp in the field or is it literally that quite you can stand behind with the standard thermometer?
Exactly as you put it. So quiet I can stand behind and take temp. He's getting a bit wise to it now though... ended up walking off with thermometer up bum this morning!

I only asked as I'm looking at a new cat phone that has a thermal imageing camera on it and wondering what it will be like for handy temps?

seen an article about a proper thermal camera for scanning cows, heat detection and lameness they were using it to determine location of lameness, muscle, knee or foot by looking for hot spot. so they can jab/treat acordingly

Oh that is interesting. The vet wants to see this stot to take bloods whilst he's here next Friday so il ask if they have a thermal imaging camera as I think his knee is a little swollen.
