North Shropshire Big Liberal Win

I would agree except the could have voted labour which certainly gave a very half hearted support for remain and has not stood in the way at all in the current Brexit votes. Note there policy is not to stand in the way of the referendum result.
They could even have voted for UKIP or Reclaim
But no the voters deliberately chose a party still staunchly pro Europe
Plenty of Conservative leaning voters, myself included voted Lib Dem this time, partly tactical, it’s almost inconceivable that many lifelong conservatives could ever bring themselves to vote labour, but Lib Dem is a different matter, it was fairly obvious, to me at least, that the only party that could overthrow the Tory’s here was the Lib Dem’s.

Would that be the labour party led by starmer who campaigned for another brexit vote ?

I agree with all the above points, it was a protest vote and the Conservatives were always going to struggle even if they had found a popular local candidate. However it is interesting the number of those protest votes going to the Lib Dem which could so easily have gone to any of the other pro brexit parties.
I do believe the country is tired of the Brexit argument, but I suspect that just as a number of politicians for donkeys years whined on about the EU, the alternative argument is going to stymie British politics for a very long time to come yet.
I myself have never been a believer in looking back at where we went wrong , but prefer to look forward and how can we get to where we want to be. It is fanciful to suggest a return to the EU in my lifetime, but we must get a good working relationship going as soon as we can and some of the Anti EU sentiment we have seen in the very recent past is definitely not helping. We are out, they will now progress as they wish, it is pointless us whining about it, if they don’t want our trade that is both of our’s loss.

There have been people who suggest we need to have a test before people can vote and it's not the centre right or right wing that's suggesting that
Well I suggested it in a recent thread with my tongue firmly in my cheek but after the responses I received I became convinced it was a good idea ,and I am most definitely centre right to right. I’ve voted in every poll I’ve been able to in the last fifty years and never voted left of liberal. So I think in my case you could say generally that the centre right or right wing have suggested it.

I agree we both suffer if there is bad feeling but that is a two way street.
It's obvious that SOME in the EU fear us bring successful outside, some dont like losing our cash and some individuals just hate us especially one sad Irish individual.
I'm sure there are many within the EU that want to move on too the trouble at the moment is it's a bit like a divorce, lots of bitterness and he said she said bollox

I wasnt bitter after my divorce just relieved, had remain won I would have just shrugged my shoulders and moved on, life is too short to be bitter

Are you one person or the population at large. Divorce was pretty widespread where I was and bitterness was equally widespread... all manner of bizarre and sad and damaging stories around divorce

Shame the whole world isn’t like you, it would be full of pink fluffy rabbits and marshmallows 👍

Never seen a bitter person get what they want they just sit about moaning how unfair life is, my ex was bitter for over 15 years, it nearly destroyed her new relationship to a very decent bloke, she came with literally nothing and left with a fortune, I would have given every penny to her so I could have the relationship I now have and thought it was still a bargain.
I know you went through a divorce and you are now happy so probably know what I mean.

I'm glad you would. I doubt most wouldn't in fact Nigel Farage said as much before the result went his way
I don't think Farage is a fair reflection on the whole leave vote, he dedicated his life to the cause, of course he would never have given up. The bitterness is coming mainly from the political and media establishment who have never forgiven the populace for voting against something they apparently held so dear.

Most normal folk just want to move on.
