North Yorkshire - land wanted for horticulture.

Hi,

I am looking for 0.5-2 acres of land to let on a long term let within a 15 minute drive of HG1, where I have recently moved to. Knaresborough, Ripley, Bilton areas all would be good.

I will preface this by saying: this is for a business. I can offer a business plan and employment references. I am not looking to muck about and try my hand at the good life part time. I am not looking to build on the land or store rubbish and I will maintain boundaries. I am tidy and reliable and can pay one years rent up front. I am in my 20s and looking for a landowner who is willing to work with me and give me a chance. I have been looking for land and making enquiries for over a year.

With that out of the way! I am looking for land to grow cut flowers intensively for use in my floristry. The flowers would be grown in small, organised beds. COVID, Brexit, lack of HGV drivers and so on have seen an increase in the wholesale cost of cut flowers by 40-60% in the last year or so. Personally, I don’t see this going down any time soon. That aside, you simply cannot get the same scent, colours and textures from imported stems. And most importantly, imported cut flowers come with a hefty carbon footprint, which the public is slowly waking up to. The appetite for British grown flowers is once again booming.

I would need water and be able to access via car. The option to erect a small poly tunnel to have the chance at a longer growing season would be great, but I understand if this is not possible. If you know of anyone who may have the right space for me, please let me know. Thank you!
