North Yorkshire Police - Public accountability meeting (online) – Tuesday, 28th September 2021

Rural crime is on the agenda of North Yorkshire's Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner's online Public Accountability Meeting.

This meeting will be held on Tuesday 28th September, from 1330hrs to 1600hrs; with North Yorkshire Police scheduled to deliver a presentation on rural crime at 1350hrs.

The public can ask questions (one per person), submitted beforehand.

Here is a link to a two page PDF file that has a few tables, clearly showing poaching as recorded in North Yorkshire which had 1435 incidents from April 2020 to May 2021.

It shows incidents by area, and by month, illustrating that there is a sharp increase in October (understandably, post harvest and darker evenings), and that Hambleton District is the worst affected, followed by York/Selby; with Craven the least affected.

This was compiled from figures given by North Yorkshire Police on page five of the Police's Rural Crime presentation (link above).
