Northern Ireland Milk Price Tracker

Only started to calve before Christmas. Trade is strong. I'm not selling my best . Tb and looking forward to a spring rise in milk. I've sold good stock at £700 and then seen farmers 3 deep at the ring buying stock at 2k. They're a funny bunch

Went down today with one reactor[emoji24] one of our top cows as well. Apparently there’s quite a lot of Tb about down here, what’s it’s like further north?

We are north coast area.
people down at end of summer who hasn’t been down in a long time-blamed on good weather-animals having to graze tighter to ground.

We failed early August 2 heifers same batch.
We got clear early December. We are autumn calvers so that was fun!

Edit: we noticed new badger set nearby where heifers where grazing

It’s so hateful. Dunno what I’m going to do with bull calves now. Hopefully we can go clear sooner rather than later

Vet was telling me on Tuesday that he knows of a farm that hasn’t tested in 6 years! The vet was putting him down as clear and not even visiting the farm whatsoever

He was taking some chance with a spot check, imagine the inspector turning up and no test taking place, no clip marks no nothing and then the vet would have to fabricate the whole test on paper, including skin measurements and what if all the animals weren't there? Missing cows or tags etc.

Massive risk. It’ll only be a matter of time before he’s caught
