Northern Ireland Milk Price Tracker

How much milk does June grass support?
Due to the high price of replacements last year,I left the bull in with the herd a bit longer so have a few cows calved recently. They’re doing 28 to 36 litres. My goats giving 20 litres are on 3 kg ( they were on 2kg). What do the fresh cows need? Hoping to get a few caught by Mr Bull before he comes out 1st of August...definite!
Wee willie or should we call you wee laim as you do quite a bit of trade across the border with the Mexicans, while the rest if us on the coast in north trumpland have to buy our cattlefeed at highly inflated prices, time for an even playing field, time for a wall

Very hard to judge at the minute. We stayed dry till about 6pm yesterday, but it looked like the other side of the lough got washed out at lunchtime. It's more good luck, than good guidance.

Aye. Complete gamble. We didn't get a drop until 6. But ballymena could have had it earlier I think. It Spattered and drizzled for two hours. So much for passing heavy showers. This was rain just sitting on top of us with no wind to move it on. Mowed it flat, and it wasnt actually in bad shape this morning. Was ready for a kick by half ten. It's trying to spit at the moment, looks clearer to the south. Worse towards limavady.

Thanks. It's not for the want of tryin on our part. It's definitely dying a bit in between the showers but it'll need a decent blow up tomorrow to get it in shape. Showers haven't been too bad bar one short one after lunch. But there one just on now that's quite damp.:cautious:

As the saying goes, call me what you want just don't call me early in the morning.
Regarding things Irish,I'm very disappointed with the lack of opposition from all Lakeland producers who are of a nationalist position to their forced recruitment to the BRITISH Red tractor scheme. A scheme which has for it's symbol a tractor bearing the flag of the oppressor of the occupied six counties.
While I may not share their political outlook I will support them if any would wish to try to stop Lakeland's insult on their nationalist identity.
My opposition has got absolutely nothing to do with the predicted bollocking I'm going to get from some young blade about having calf pens made from pallets and baler twine, cobwebs in the parlour and cat sh!t under the bulk tank!
Apparently they're very strict about where your cat can Pooh.

There's a mention on another thread about a consultation on new regs - one of which is to have a calving aid cleaning protocol, and probably records therewith.

I must remember to fill in my 'calving aid cleaning and disinfection record' after I've used it to calve a cow at half 2 in the morning.

What's all this about using a calving aid.
You need to breed cows that calve themselves. I couldn't tell you where mine is at! :ROFLMAO:
