Northern Ireland Milk Price Tracker

no deal would be fine IF tariffs are applied to protect uk farmers ie tariffs for stuff coming in from the free state. my guess is a last minute deal will be done. would help if parliament grew a set and were united in negotiations. whats the saying united we stand divided we fall

I wouldn't count on that, meanwhile people continue to invest in facilities and cows to produce milk at or below the cost of production and at sell it at a price similar to that received 20 years ago. Try telling your tanker driver/feed rep/electricity supplier etc etc you'll pay them 1999 wages/prices and see how you get on!! My head hurts!!! back to cleaning out the calf house....

Sorry for the dark mood.. it's calf house cleaning blues, it happens every year at this time brought on by heifers filling up it dawning on me that the calf pens and house are in the a total mess!
Calf pens beat me every year, always a few calved before we have them cleaned out. 3 so far this year, so getting them dunged out is on the list for tomorrow...................or the next day. Hopefully have them done for the end of next week and be ready for silage when the heatwave is here(y).
Going to have to make 3rd cut into black turds as silos are full, I hate black turds.:(

I used to think the same until 2017 when a supply of them saved me from running short of fodder in the following winter. I wouldn't want to be without a yard full of them now.

Isn't the weather a complete bas........low milk price, the perfect storm, roll on sept. Grazing nearly over, milk dropping big time, fire fighting with more meal but I'll have to accept the drop. Cows out for another 4 weeks at night I hope

We feed bales to the cows at night during the summer as we cant use the clamp quick enough to stop it from heating at the face. Would have enough made this year to keep us going until end of November but will open the clamp in a month or so. If someone offers me 25quid a bale out of the field they can have them.
