Serious number of feed trailers/ring feeders sitting in fields with cows around here. Going to turn awfully messy at the weekend if forecast is right. Funny when you’re watching grass waiting for it to grow,it’s soooo slow. Is this going to push up the price of silage? Was hoping to buy bales for dry cows. First cut was average yield. Second cut was pathetic.

I’d imagine silage will be dearer this year.. Grazing ground doing absolutely nothing round here only be carried by the fact that ground that has been cut for silage or zero grazed seems to be coming back each time without much trouble

Had an awful hour of rain this evening. According to the met office radar, we were in a spot of about a square mile that got it.

Have never seen rain like it. Just went on and on.

Anyone get a late letter for the grant? Tier 1.
Got one. A few weeks ago, thinking I had not got it spent money else where. Problem is would like to take 2/3 of what I applied for but being told I will get a fine or reduction in the amount of grant I get if I don't take all the items.

Has anyone tried the same and if so how much was the fine.

Is it just me, or are these 'grants' a farce?
