Do you think the Brexit outcome has banged some heads into action ?

Seems that they were getting feedback on the doorstep to get back to stormont and make it work. But basically both big parties lost votes to more centrist parties and under threat of an assembly election got things up and running again. They're quite good at looking after no.1.

No. Not in the least. I think that was the strategy - to close Stormont until the brexit withdrawal deal was done. You can see by the timing of the referendum and the Stormont collapse, and Boris's GE and stormonts resumption that it's too much to be coincidence. Probably took longer than they anticipated, but they waited it out.

It also meant that marriage and abortion laws could be changed without local politicians having to take the decision.

I see the begging bowl is out yet again, 2 bill this time, the Welsh and Scots are undoubtedly watching, only a matter of time to this place is on the side of a bus, time we stood on it's own 2 feet
Is this new money tho or just the money that they kept off us for three years while stormont bickered?

Keep taking it while it lasts, not be long until Leo and Mary Lou will be forking it fort to us. Then we might be wishing we'd stayed in the mothership.

This is an important point. Martin pulled the plug and they all got the blame. It seems crazy that one party can stop the whole show.

It was his last great act. I feel that the DUP played into their hands by allowing Arlene to stay on, had she stood aside until the RHI was sorted, the shinners would have had no reason to bring the assembly down.........................................................................................until the next crisis.
