I soon need to order eartags again. Just wondering has there been any chat locally about the introduction of EID tags. I don't fancy being stuck with a slap of obsolete tags...... again.

What do others do with cull cows? Got docket from Dunbia this morning for last cows and cattle killed but no cheque. Switching to BACS payment.. 14 days from kill date! Clogher- cheque home with you,Markethill-cheque posted next day and ABP supposed to pay on the day.
Probably moaning about nothing . Thought 14 days a bit excessive but then again when you get the cheque manys a time it lay maybe a month in the drawer before lodgment.

Ballymena mart- cheque home with you, always nice to have it even if it does sit in the drawer for a while.

If you sold a milk cow would you get the cheque home with you? Thought the buyer had a week to complain about hidden faults..slow milking etc.
You get the cheque in a week usually, I think complaints need to be made in 3 or 4 days.
I didn't think there were many cheques left in drawers any more, once you couldn't endorse them any more there was no point, even if you could afford to.

Do they not steal £10 off you for insurance? No insurance on cows under 240kg. Total kill fee for a cow at Dunbia £25+vat.

Kill fee is something similar.

Chlorine free detergent, any recommendations? I've heard some are better than others. We're going to have to go chlorine free from the 1st April ( no joke ), I'm sure we'll get some sort of bonus for it. (joke)

Hope so, nearly had the leggings off for the first day since the end of September this afternoon. Near blocked with slurry and won't be dry enough to make another go at it before the rain comes again. You'd near be certain that the ban causes more pollution, than before it came in ten years ago.

Chlorine free ??- - Where are you going to get your water from ??

Anyway chlorine is a sanitiser (disinfectant) not a detergent , two quite different things...
The detergent is there to make the water wetter and help shift fats...

Watch out, chlorine free not near as good TCB will rise unless you use more acid hot washes and paracetic acid in final rinse .

As you are all probably aware I detest the upcoming RT inspection. Got the dreaded card..inspection next week. Sent the inspector a text today. “ Due to the ongoing corona virus situation and my persistent cough accompanied by fever I have taken the decision to self isolate. I therefore will not be able to participate in next week’s scheduled inspection. Sorry for any inconvenience “
