3t a cow men round here seem to be doing ok. One just bought a nice farm for 1.2 . I feed less, have more milk from forage but can't buy ground at 12k/acre and make it worth the bother.

I'm told a 3 ton plus man runs into problems when it take a litre of milk to buy a kilo of meal3t a cow men round here seem to be doing ok. One just bought a nice farm for 1.2 . I feed less, have more milk from forage but can't buy ground at 12k/acre and make it worth the bother.

I'll leave it to the experts. I think you need a 'smart' accountant and a bank manager who want's more litres down the lane.I'm told a 3 ton plus man runs into problems when it take a litre of milk to buy a kilo of meal
What is it about you northern irish boys you all seem to know so much about your neighbours. Was over there years ago and a farmers could tell me the whole details of another farmers buisness and could be and hours drive away. This happened on every farm i went to when asked where i previously was just found in intresting.I'm told a 3 ton plus man runs into problems when it take a litre of milk to buy a kilo of meal
You may take that matter up with the nutritionalist who spoke at a public meetingWhat is it about you northern irish boys you all seem to know so much about your neighbours. Was over there years ago and a farmers could tell me the whole details of another farmers buisness and could be and hours drive away. This happened on every farm i went to when asked where i previously was just found in intresting.
1990's price doesn't go far, that's the bit I've figured out. Getting by is the ambition now.
Wont be long til DF pay their seasonal high price, they usually wait til to a large proportion of cows are dried off and then give themselves a pat on the back, big price on a low volume.
Talking too suckler farmers who converted too milk within last five years in regards too price are more than happy. Talking about profits off £700 - £1000/cow have been common last few years. All 100-150 cow men. If milk rose 10p I fear too think where these men would stop in terms off production.
Smoke and mirrors eh ? But if DF are running a penny a litre behind Lakeland on a large supply it soon adds up . Wont be long before people start voting with their feet and switching that is unless lake land have a " closed shop " agreement with Dale farm where the dont recruit one anothers suppliers .Wont be long til DF pay their seasonal high price, they usually wait til to a large proportion of cows are dried off and then give themselves a pat on the back, big price on a low volume.

Any recommendations for concrete and slat grooving? Never had any done. Is it per metre? Thanks
My problem is slats in one House have a polished finish and are shocking slippy. Did the edge of the slats chip? Was nervous about doing themHave grooved both, wouldn’t do slats again, it ruined them.
