Our 200k gal reception pit cost 24k all in. Could double the width as its long and narrow for 6k at the time and make a 400k gal pit. Its 115ft x 30ft x 11ft.
There's no slats in your £24k though? You'll do a 300k gallon shuttered lagoon for 20ish and stick a big fence round it OK. Slats will be the same price as the tank underneath.

Too big a footprint for over here, a shuttered tank that size would be slatted and have a shed on it. If it's only for extra storage then better to go up and keep the footprint smaller.

I dont know much about them never dealt with them and dont intend to. Any time we priced them they were way out. Havin said that i buy meal from his brother.
To be fair I have found that their higher price can be because the spec is higher, and they don't always tell you what the spec is.

What if it’s a big extra to AI ? The money saved won’t be much use to you when the bull kills you. Are you diy or going for rms/ precision? Sexed or conventional?

I've had umpteen fights, all wins,no knockouts, only floored once but won the fight a WD meats the following day, it's an average value I'm looking for, a service man to come and do the work with an average straw price with average repeats

I'm really getting at costs,I've killed bulls in less that 6 weeks because of temperament, had bulls 3 years but I think even I changed bulls every 6 months it would still be cheaper than ai. Bulls cost on average 2500

Jonny Lyons and Dennis torrens do that sort of ai work together seem to be getting on well

2.5 straws per cow. Beef straw5-7£ sexed20-40 . Chalk walk service 12-20 per cow per year depending on deal struck

As above, roughly 2 - 2.5 straws/cow. Costs being:
-Triple Beef straw 7-10
- Sexed Holstein 25 - 40
- Ai Work 10 for first cow on visit and 5 for each cow after
- Ai flask was roughly 500 and costs 240/year to keep it going
- The other cost, which maybe not necessary but I would be programming cows every week to try and ensure a steady flow of cows calving to keep the robots going at capacity

Not sure what the Genus RMS service costs

Between cows and heifers I have about 220 calving per year, that works out very expensive

Used to use bulls then went down AI road. AI costs more but instead of black and white bulls at 50 you have beef calves at 250.pays for AI.wouldn’t go back to bulls
Now calf price is a good point but I much perfer small black and white calves at £40 export , ie easy calving to any beef calf. I find you're either in milk or beef but not both. As my father said, if you want the wee girls you have to take the wee boys. ( long before the days of sexed semen)
