Northern Ireland Milk Price Tracker

We've milked three times a day for ten years now, 305 herd average 11,426, men in milking every evening, good men at that, one is in charge of the rest, both recruiting others and covering holiday leave as well as milking, once the cows are milked, they're milked, peace of mind, I can expand another 50 cows in the morning if I want and don't have to invest another heap of money into the parlour. 3x/day would be my preference.
I'm guessing your milk sold per cow per year is a bit lower than your 305 day average of 11,426, otherwise, at 3.1 ton meal, your milk from forage puts the vast majority of us badly to shame.

Only if you choose to feed more. It's no different to a computerised parlour feeding system. Set the parameters and the computer does the rest, unless you intervene to bring up an individual's condition or something like that. There is no need to feed more than you would in a parlour, just to create visits. The main thing is to err on the stingy side at the feed rail, and they'll travel fine for you.

Do yous think the lovery men and women in the niea, will be taking a well earned fortnight off over Christmas? Or will they be on call to view my slurry being pitched over the hedge?

Any recommendations for a genuinely easy calving Ai Belgian/British blue bull? Some bulls are claimed to be easy calved then when you go through the data they've only had a few recorded calvings in their proof.
