That's a very decent thing to do.

But really, it's a market like for anything else, which we have to live with. Your caller just shouldn't bother pretending he's doing it for the good of the nation, or world peace.

We usually buy a small pit off a neighbour most years. He quit farming a lot of years ago, has a job off farm but still clamps and bales the silage. Charged no different to last year which I thought was very decent. He says it's no use to him if he makes more this year and maybe loses a good customer the next.

Another man not far away who stopped milking but made silage, sold all his silage at last year's prices because when he started farming and had run short a fellow farmer helped him too. Some very decent people out there too

Sometimes it's a buyers market sometimes a sellers. Not much complaining when bales are £15.

Kind chap shoudve been dropped there and then. All joking aside, this weather would need to tighten soon. Between lack of silage and too much slurry the jobs as wrong as I've seen it.... maybe next month will be better, eh???

We've been saying that since July.

Long range forecast makes uncomfortable reading

Nick has realised he still has 60 odd million of debt still to clear and the milk pool is getting smaller with older producers retiring, hence the drive to get new blood in the door with a new entrants scheme.
