Did you ever try Lakeland meal. Darn good stuff. Got my first batch last week..can't believe the difference it's made to my milk yield. No test results for over 8 days now so don't know what it's doing to quaility.

A good load or two to get you started then they'll start sending you rubbish in a months time;). I find meal is very hard to compare as they will all have slightly different ingredients/ minerals etc. Important to me is a good supplier who will deliver what you want when it is needed.

The problem for me is I'm with the same meal supplier for over thirty years. Cows were not milkin the way they should have been. Complained but they just said "Feed more meal" Twice a day through parlour so couldn't feed anymore than 12kgs(2x6kgs). Bought this Lakeland stuff..yield up 10% overnight. No change in silage and same meal input.
Will not name the other meal company cos the new meal has got added yeasts and stuff..which I always thought was a load of bluff..so maybe this is makin the difference. Just thought my custom was being taken for granted. I'm not big but I always pay.

With regards to meal all the feed company has to do is up the protein slightly more than what you ordered and the cows will milk that bit better, but watch out it usually comes at the expense of feet and fertility! Plenty of chancers in the meal industry!
