off i go around 8am.....takes about an hour to do the 35 miles.....anyhoo about halfway there i hear a noise....the jockey wheel dropped.....nice straight bitta road....nowt about so i stop....get out and am just tending to the jockey wheel when suddenly the lower half of the inspection door swings open and ....FECK ME....two lambs jump out:oops::oops:....i move slowly and patiently and closed the door (which i was sure i'd checked:bag:).....the two lambs meanwhile had made their way thru the spindly hedge and were examining the harvested beet field next.......thinks 'OMG FACEBOOK FEEDING FRENZY':bag:....keeping calm though i remembered i had a bucket of corn and these lambs had been fattened inside .....rattling the bucket i crept thru the hedge and one came over....i grabbed him and took him to trailer......opened door ....stuffed him back in....turned and the other had followed him:oops:......anyhoo i was able to grab him as well.....feck me:oops::oops:

got to mart and regailed my tale....@drk there:)

OK...so there were no vegans....not been any sign for a while.....on way out i stopped and had chat with fella at gate.......poor lad been in bluetongue restriction....fields flooded....test monday🤞.....i asked about vegans.....he reckoned there were 4 factions (though he only accounted for 3 :scratchhead:)......nils desperandum.....faction 1...the placard holder vegans had accused faction 2 the mask wearing 'ultras' of alienating public support thru blocking the road...in return the ultra's accused the 'placards' of being 'melts'.......meanwhile the third faction....the supposedly 'independent auditors' had been taken to court for harassing plod (it's what they do) and told if they go back to nlm their next time in court will be very serious......for the time being then we are molestation fr3ee but he thinks they will be back
You had a lucky escape, happened to me going through a town on school run time, couldn't under stand why all the yummy mummy's were tooting at me till I looked in the mirror and saw the side door flapping and a lamb on the road, stopped abruptly managed to chase the lamb about a half mile till I cornered it in some oaps back garden where luckily 2 builders were working ,left them holding the said sheep while I gasped back to the vehicle,as all this was happening probably 100 people videod me but not 1 helped.Anyway got to the abbatoir and counted them off and I had 1 more than I thought, had I not seen it in my mirror and the door had slammed shut I would be none the wiser to this day

them jacks are crap. and useless unless the treailler is unhitched on perfectly level and smooth surface everyone has one so it looks right ,bollcks to that.

all ours have been replaced by an ordinary trailer jack, welded or bolted on .

I put a one off an old opico drier on mine, un pin it and chuck in in back of truck when the trailers on. It will wind up and down with a load on too.

Im now trying to think of ways of stopping the side door thing, happening because weve all had it happen odd time or 2 ,

always in a hurry and forgetful style....:cautious:

on our little trailer you can almost see the luce pins in the wing mirror

Yeah, but it takes seconds a journey.
I know its the last thing i do before setting out with stock in on the road. all trailer check, as its one of my greatest fears.

It the pins get worn they should be replaced , their design is that they snug down with gravity and self secure ,anti luce that's what it means.

I am just trying to help the OP .

Its when our minds are on other things , or lots of things at once. and stress etc etc. and you think after htf did happen :scratchhead:

ciao.

Laughing reaction, only because it ended well 🙈

Thought it was me who that kind of thing happened to.... Glad I'm not alone now 😂
