Some of you may remember that I ‘bodged’ a pto driven cement mixer to work with an electric motor.

Which resulted in this finger trapping device

Therefore we needed some guards, que some old rusty sheets (still some form of a bodge)

Few cuts and trimming

A quick fold and some shaping

Some bodgenieering and pidgeon poo

Can’t really put this in the bodge thread as I cheated and used these

You're in the right thread @Mur Huwcun (y)

Those sheet metal tools would buy you a shite storm in the bodge thread, likewise the welding in the full-fat engineering thread

Well done though. HSE would be most appreciative.

they don't the handle top right spins all 4 corner posts which wind the bed up or down like screwed rod? don't need a lock as its so low geared? my press had a motor onto the handle as its slow winding bed up or down.

I wondered if it was on screws, but I couldn’t see them! ....now you’ve said it, I can just about see a few threads in the bottom left of one of the pics(y)
As you say, they don’t need locking, and the brilliant thing is you can get the exact height you want:cool:, a friend of mine has an 80t press that has two huge screws, one either side, built like a tank!

That’s one thing I don’t like about mine. Position holes are about 8” apart and you can guarantee the hole you need is always 1mm too high and the job won’t go under

As been said screws up and down it’s only:whistle: 60 ton and the best thing is it has a two speed pump so will pump down fast at a low pressure then turn a valve to up the pressure and slow the speed got it given to me along with a couple of pillar drills, a power hack saw and a load of big drill bits and taps/dies, thing was I asked the guy if he had a lathe I could have his reply was no sorry but I could have have everything in the workshop if I shifted it the same day.........soon got that little lot moved(y)
