Jib hoist.
Just use all my guess work and what steel was spare looks strong enough to me what more can you do.
The safe working load ? Is point less as nobody knows how heavy the thing is there lifting any way. (Joke but true)
Max I’m lifting is 150kg flat plate.
My safe working is 20kg Which is more important to me
Is now a stop on the end well spotted just in case somebody is stupid enough to run it of the end. If it can happen it will. And hope to paint it to
Completely agree do it right or not all. Coded welder if that means anything to any one. I have posted in the Not Quite Farm Engineering or a Quick Bodge

Yes, however if HSE see it it will be prohibited straight away and I’m 90% sure they monitor this forum.
Mark it with a SWL and get it LOLER tested. It’ll cost you £100 but cheaper than a prohibition order.

Just say it's in holland, as long as you don't employ people we can do what we want, as it should be.

It’s pretty much the same in the UK, but it’s pretty clear that this is in a work situation. Note that self employment is still employment though, in the UK context (and I suspect also in Holland).

Legal aside, killing or injuring yourself through stupidity always has an impact on others and should be avoided regardless of nationality.

I agree fully, which is my point. If you use it for a max of 100kg, hang 500 on it, give it a good tug and inspect.
I think you get my point, use common sense. If the test is relatively cheap it might be the sensible option. However, unless it is used to suspend the chandelier above the dinner table, I think it's a bit harsh to say you might kill you wife, the kids and your grandmother with it.

25% weight over load with deflection measured with is the test requirement. Prefect result on the fully out position but not a good Out come when folded across where I wouldn’t be using it . that must be y they use big tube as the stand. Ruined my day. ? big tube required

Weld another H beam into the stantion at 90 degrees so it is stiff in both directions use same section ideally so both ways same

Not sure where that is on the car, but my audi powered Galaxy leaked from the fuel pump and was quite hard to find.
Under the floor driver side just got one off a guy braking one. Its pissing down though so will have to wait for another day before I fit it

I'm guessing the stanchion on your shed twisted, allowing the beam to droop, rather than deflect itself. Need to mod the stanchion, I guess. Open channels warp easier, so maybe just weld some plates between the flanges of the stanchion and try again.

Good on ya for giving it a proper test. What code requirements were you testing it against?

View attachment 864864Boxed in beam did the trick. happy with the deflection test now. And made the trolly hoist better with the elec cable hooked and running along a hi-tensile wire with chain links. Hoist With the magnet lift works well just have to guess the middle balance point fairly well.
Excellent. You'll wonder how you coped without it.....

That looks like a geka iron worker you’re using, farm engineering or business engineering? I keep my eye out for one but nothing local to me.

Kingsland 60t has beengreat, not had any reall trouble with it. The clamps are useless and move so you have to clamp the clamps. Don’t do anything much now just mess about, but it is handy sometimes if you want to make your own shed. wouldn’t bother with under 60t though.

Brush wheels have been annoying me for years, started with a set off an old topper I think it was but they stopped turning.
Then tried castors but didn't last a day. so lost the rag with it & spent a few quid & think I have it right now.

old ones

new ones
126.jpg

changed a bit again before painting
129.jpg

paint stock was running a bit low, hence the colours
128.jpg

bit overkill maybe but at least if I get a puncture in the rake I'll have something to rob....

not to dis it Willy but my guess is the stubs will bend next and after that the 8mm plate but your damn near it.
Id hope im wrong there mind you, every day is a learning day with me.

that is of course unless you made the 25mm stubs out of En24T, in that case id say your spot on.

We had an old Lister wuffler years ago, it had a pair of seriously over engineered as was the norm back then swivel wheels on the front. We were clearing scrap but I gad to go somewhere and told Dad to keep the castors to put on the brush. Fair play he did keep the wheels....... unfortunately they never saw the brush!!!

Last year I bought a MF 1014/Landini 10000S and I got a set of weights with it. The Fendt dealer where I bought the tractor had those weights lying around for years and threw them in to finish the deal. He had no clue on how to mount the weights on to the tractor and neither did I.

So I started looking for pictures from tractors with the weights mounted but couldn't find a real solution. A member of tractorfan.nl gave me the advise to look at trattore.it, where they have technical drawings for certain brands of tractors. And there I found the drawing of the weight frame.

With different materials lying around I made a frame my own style.
