Not Quite Farm Engineering or a Quick Bodge.

The Engineering thread is a bit too complex for me, however the quick fix and bodge thread has got a bit serious about using anything other than second-hand string to mend things.

I thought that a new thread showing things that we have made that don't really fit into either thread would be a good plan.

My first entry (as yet unpainted and still in production) could actually be the start of a thread called 'over engineering'

Bought some second hand girders for £100 and knocked up a stand for water butt to catch some roof water. Still upside down in the workshop in this picture....

If it's for a single 220l barrel you'll need closer centres....

A bit of a modification to my 4220 today, to allow me to get tools in the toolbox rather than being fill of pins, linkage balls and PTO stubs. While I was at it I made a screen to stop stones from the mower breaking the window. One anti-luce clip and it lifts off.

Spreader stand, made from scrap surplus, but with a bit too much method in the madness to be a bodge. Not only is it stable to move or climb in and easier to hitch up than on pallets, but also gives some protection to the spreader from miss handling.



Still got more broken harrow tines to think of reuses for.

Recon this falls into this category . Finally got around to welding up one of the paws on the bale handler here at home yesterday Folded some 10mm plate to give it more strength . My home made press was at its limit bending the 10mm at a ft long .

Another union of engineering and bogery, I made this leveler last year for doing tracks, but with a bit a bit of adjustment on the skids it does a nice job of smoothing weathered ditching spoil. Skids were set in the pics for putting some camber on tracks. Needs some ripping tines in front of the tram lines to loosen hard tracks though. The headstock was about the only part that survived destructive testing of the origional pure bodge creation.

Got two jobs done that I had the parts for done in the last few days, a second hydraulic pump on the 76 way better on the wrapper now and new hook welded on to the bucket link on the JCB.

Of course, just hadn't quite done it when I took the picture.

We have had the thing overflowing for a week, the cattle - who drink about 2500 litres every 4 days haven't been keeping up with it during the monsoon that we are still getting in sunny Essex.

I paint in different areas around the workshop and outside, I was tired of trying to balance the spray gun on whatever's handy so I knocked up a stand.
