I cant see any huge increases in fuel prices considering the government has already significantly moved demand away from diesel but i think if your local council is going to put in a tax for taking your into a city center as is already in place in some city's and being planned for allot more its going to cost significantly more to take a diesel car in than it would a petrol or electric one

What is wrong with looking at a smaller vehicle rather than such a large motor?
So many folk have been pushed into thinking the better car is a big one. Be daring and look at a 1.2 VW or Skoda. You can at least get down a country lane without stopping every time you meet another mahousive wagon and park easily in the supermarket.

Been used for years ;) it’s all about the use, most people drive less than 30 miles per trip don’t tow and don’t need 4wd hybrid or electric is great for them if you need to regular do 200+ miles per trip tow and go off road your lugging a battery and motor about for fun my missus is considering all electric but we will keep my D4 xc60 for another 5 years and see

I have an e-scooter for town use. I am now a persecuted and hated person in certain situations. But I can park out of town, scoot in and do whatever I need to do and scoot out. All for pennies!
There is much GREENWASH in EV's and why does one need a six seater hybrid to go to tesainlidosonop??
Even the bus companies have recently banned folk coming on-board carrying anything resembling an E-S  Such hypocrites!

Country roads , including those with white lines up the middle and a small light car?
2 things
1. You'll be glad to get out of it at the end of a journey, the undulations and potholes due to poor maintenance round here is unreal.
2.After 3 years of ownership there will be nothing left of it after it has endured the constant bombardment of rough roads

Have you seen what private vehicles are on the road in SE Asia, India, Pakistan etc? Where the roads are actually broken.

Buy the Kuga if you want the Kuga. Although I have heard excellent things about the hybrid RAV4, and depending on what fruitcake rebate/taxing scheme your government has, it'll probably end up being the better option long term.

Are these new model cars or older heavier models built from actual metal and not plastic?

my son is employed in the vehicle recovery business. he says it takes 5 minutes to load up a wrecked car then half an hour to pick up all the bits of plastic scattered around. saying that he says people walk away from some terrible wrecks and some fatals there is not a lot of damage, luck of the draw.

IMO Hybrid fuel consumption figures are fantasy unless you do mostly urban driving in city / town centres. At all other times a good diesel will be far more efficient.

Still firmly believe hydrogen will become the mainstream fuel of the future, it would be almost impossible to get the infrastructure required for mass electric vehicle’s into place in the next 10-20 years. The spending required would make HS2 look like a small house extension by comparison
