After No deal Brexit is confirmed all those whiney Remainers can move their backsides too France via the Channel tunnel if they wish to stay in Europe...………..Simples!
And then they can watch in horror as the Euro gravitates down to Zero as the financials realize theres no UK suckers too pay for all those European pensions anymore;)

You’ve registered with the Portuguese authorities, and that gives you extra benefits and rights. I couldn’t do the same now, could I?

Of course I am registered with the Portuguese authorities. I live here.

When I lived in Australia I was registered with the Australian authorities. When I lived in the UK I was registered with the UK authorities. Some of my income is subject to UK tax, so I am still "registered" there. Registering does not give any "extra" benefits or rights. Being registered does mean that my wife and I could, as we did, request to be given permission to continue to live here. Permission was granted. The same seeking of permission to remain resident applies in most countries does it not? Registering does give certain obligations such as paying taxes in whichever country one is resident in, so it works both ways.

You could do the same as us if you lived here, but you live in Scotland, so why would you want to seek permission to be resident in another country (any country) if you do not intend to become resident?

After Brexit it will still be possible for UK citizens to move to another country (subject to any visas which may be necessary - just as the same conditions apply to many countries now) and request permission to become resident. Anybody can do that in non EU countries now. I dare say there are exceptions and some countries may not permit such applications.

My neighbours in france are coming back to visit family next week , quote ,..... we may not be able to after brexit .... what utter sh!t the remainers have spread in the last 3 years .
Or they may know something you don't. Like are they legally resident?
Went to a British Embassy meeting, the number of people who thought they had residents rights but were actually illegal was shocking!

And agricultural machinery/parts?
Under current WTO parts are tariff free. It’s Finished product that has the tariff. Of which currently 75% goes to the EU.

So for all the widgets we import from 3rd countries that will include France, we will keep 100% of the tariff.
Where as parts to build a NH tractor ie cabs from France will be tariff free under WTO.
Where as John Deere will increase the prices a little in the EU to absorb the tariff into the UK.

Meanwhile as Macron has been such an arse to the UK we will stop buying french stuff as much as possible.

Sterilising pallets. This is a joke. Like there is any difference as it stands today.

the UK should get tough and stop pishing around. Starting with tariffs on German cars- given their history with emissions controls all imported German and French cars should be checked professionally by an independent body registered to an approved British industry standard.

The bit the EU don't get is that there is a substitute for everything the UK imports. If they try any nonsense in the financial markets, threaten to become a tax haven.

We export a lot of spuds to Rep Ireland.
WTO tariff is 11.3% so not much.

The Irish are going to do Auditing on Merchants premises. To try to stop them coming from the north.
They are coming up with all sorts of sh!t to put barriers up against UK Agri goods.

We need to match like with like, it’s good Boris talks with Trump.

The Irish are big trading partners with the UK and need to remember it. That kind of nonsense isn't going to fly. The UK can soon send business abroad where it will be able to offer free trade to whatever partner(s) if fancies- this is a very powerful diplomatic consideration. The Koreans, for example, will be literally gagging to get themselves a slot at the top table to sell us cars without any tariff barriers.
