NROSO- Does anybody here work for them?

Has anybody had a RT inspection and failed because of the fiasco at NROSO?

I know from personal experience they do not respond to emails. They also usually take a fair time to answer the phone. The staff, when you finally get hold of one, are in fact helpful enough: They are just understaffed. They will search the emails after you speak to them on the phone.

The best way to get points added is to send a photocopy of the evidence by post, they told me.

What really annoys me is the threat that you receive, stating that if you do not get the points you will be unable to rejoin for a year. This in my view is a punishment far in the excess of the crime. It’s as though they expect every farm to have multiple sprayer driver’s and those that don’t are not worthy of membership anyway. In my case I am the only driver and if I couldn’t make up my points in time that means potentially I couldn’t sell my crops.

This is totally wrong, as I have said before on other similar threads with many farmers struggling with finances and in with the current emphasis on mental health I think these letters should stop.

Exactly this, not only that when/if you ever get to speak to them they talk to you like youre a serious criminal. shocking organisation

But the difficulty and flaw with NRoSO approach with that is if one signs a register at an event one does not have a copy of that register available. So it becomes essential to take a photograph of any register signed and then convert that into a paper document to cover for the failings of the NRoSO organisation.

At a conservative estimate I have spent over two hours on hold during 7-8 attempts to speak to them. I have emailed too.

I think I’ve done my bit.

I can’t send a photocopy of a course register I filled in moths ago.

I've had missing points and I've been told to send evidence. After a lot of moaning to them on the phone A pleasent lady added the points.
The next even I went to I asked if I could photograph the register as evidence incase I needed to plead my case, I was told I couldn't for data protection reasons🤦🤦🤦🤦

As I'm basis qualified do I still need NROSO as the learning I do to get 50 basis CPD points goes way above any half day 10 point NROSO event.

Survey that's against privacy of every one else who has signed unless their names are covered

Next time it’s better not to ask permission 🙂

Last Friday I called someone who used to work for NROSO until recently. They said they would see what they could do.
Today I received a phone call from them. Coincidence?

I’m reasonably sure I spoilt his day. I checked that the call was being recorded, which it was, so told him in no uncertain terms what I thought of the whole nonsense.
One of the things he did say was that if could prove a second time what points I had accrued he would add them. I told him it’s their cock up so they could find them. If they won’t add them by request they could forget it.

Probably all a waste of time, but then there’s no change there.

Disappointed !!!!

you’d have thought that the Union that serves farmers would actually know about new upcoming legislation/new rules

just like the Farming Rules for Water changed suddenly dumped on farmer from a great height last August. It appeared the NFU knew nothing about that either

Is anyone at home and paying attention in those big expensive offices ????

You'd like to think they might refuse on behalf of their members too!

Even kids at college doing the PA1 PA2 course presently and Nroso hoops, procedures and ongoing CPD fiasco not heard of it all, so where is Lantra, City and Guilds , assurance schemes etc etc getting acts together ???😡

The only reason we've had the recent change/ relaxation to the farming rules for water is because of intense lobbying by the NFU.
