number plate

Don't do it, everyone will know it's your truck/Jaguar. Nothing worse when you are trying to do some low-key dogging.
Two farmers near here had very similar defenders, both same colour, both hardtop and both very similar number plates (not private) with only one or two digits different. One was married and the other was single and a bit of a ladies man. His land rover was often parked where it shouldn't be and the married farmer's wife often got told her husband was playing away even though he was totally innocent so in the end he bought a private plate for himself.

Dad got one for a joke in 1945 when he was in the RAF. He just sent a fiver to the local authority and they issued it. When he died in 1987 we weren't interested in keeping it so we sold it to a well known Northern football club who still have it on their manager's car so it pops up on tellie now and then. Not sure if we should have kept it, but it got us sorted back then so everyone was happy.

I've still got the original number plate, & log book, from my very first LR. A 1947 plate, three letters & three numbers. It is still registered with DVLA but I have no idea how to do the change to my 24 year old current LR. If I could I would but hey-ho.
I'm not really a fan of personalised plates but I did see P1 KEY once on a Merc. I bet this was worth some £'s. An old girlfriends mother had PEP 51 on a Jag in her yoof & I bet this would also fetch some dosh! I believe PEN 15 is banned!

Be very aware that the number plate dealers are a very dodgy bunch. Will say no more!
your right, I have a plate for sale, and seem to think they are doing me a favour to take it off me, so I will just keep it for now, it don't fit me name or anything so as it came on a vehicle don't know what to do yet
PFB is the letters if anyone interested
