Nut / bolt / washer selection box

Hi , has anyone any suggestions where to get a good selection box of nuts bolts and washers online ? Or ideally a customisable one !? Far to much time wasted hunting around for stuff at the moment !!

It's quite a expensive way to buy fasteners really and you'll end up with sizes you dont need. Find your nearest fasterner specialist and put in an order for what you want. Probably M6 M8 M10 and M12 will be the most used. Not sure about others but at our local (grampian fasteners in Aberdeen), fixings in 10mm increments are cheaper than 5mm for some reason. They are really not expensive. Ask for all the different size set screws in zinc and plain and nylock nuts. It wont cost the earth and you'll get exactly what you need.

As has been said, best is to find a supplier and get 20 or so (or more if you want) of the most common sizes. Spalding, Namrick, Westfield, imperial Nuts and Bolts are a few of suppliers I’ve used but probably loads more. Personally I use Spalding after doing a cost comparison of a mix of nuts and bolts.

Whatever you buy, you’ll never have the one you actually need….😀

Set up an online screwfix account last week, spent more than an hour going through the nuts, bolts, washers and screws I wanted, got to checkout for it only not to except the bloody trade card for some reason 🙈 works fine in store and on the phone 🤷🏻‍♂️

no one's mentioned Grade - i.e. no one's mentioned quality!!!

but, as @B R C 's link says, Orbital fasteners will be DIN 933 Grade 8.8 so that's the route (or similar) to go

bulk packs from Wickes, Screwfix and the like won't be in my workshop....

All the ones I've bought from Screwfix have 8.8 stamped on them?

Get all mine from Orbital Fasteners, great service and decent range of sizes etc, delivered next day.
thats where i get all mine from too, as said above, selection boxes are an expensive way to buy nuts and bolts and you soon run out of the most popular sizes

i buy in bulk the nuts (lock and plain) and 4 types washers first for each size from M5 to M12 and M16
and forget the bolts.
build up the bolts as you need, if you need 20 of i size i buy a box if it is common
but get good storage sorted first as it will take alot of room and the weight is huge
i have m5 to m20 mostly and still building up the bolts selection but the bolts are the dear part as the size range is huge
