Just thinking about this. I deal direct with a manufacturer, so only buy in thousands from them, at a good price. I don't have room nor money to carry large stocks. If there is enough demand, I can order a decent quantity of various sizes, and split them up into smaller quantities as a TFF special offer. It is not normally my businesss, so it would be a once only, but it might save you all some money. Please list your requirements on here, so others can se how the idea is progressing. I will post prices once I know what is wanted and how many. Please list nuts, washers, bolts and set screws separately.

Well I would be interested in a good old bodgers selection. The only trouble is I don't know what I want! Every thing in various lengths from m6 to m20, 50 of each maybe.

But that's a lot of work for you I guess so a bit much?

That is a bit vague, I was thinking that if we can get a decent quantity, I can ordera decent number of each, and then sort in to smaller lots, and either send them or people can collect. I shall have a think, or if anybody has suggestions for a selection box, we can go from that.

Yes, I knew it was too vague to be of any use to you. I was sort of trying to prime someone with more sense than me to come up with a more comprehensive bodgers selection(y)

Got to sort out a couple big bolts sometime for this. Want to upgrade it to M39 x 270mm 10.9 grade instead of 1 1/2" unc.

Dont suppose anyones got a couple laying about:)

I thought it would be, the question was more in hope!! I'll have to leave them I'm afraid. Thanks for trying though, I appreciate the effort.
Thanks for letting me try. My manufacturers like to send them out by the pallet load really, and as I don't use this size very often, I couldn't get a better price. As I said first, as a one off it was worth a try.

What size are the bushes? 1 1/2" or 39mm? I think 39mm is a little bit larger than 1 1/2". Not that I have any lying about.

You are correct about 1mm bigger. This fits the worn holes in the grab nicely. I would like to find some decent bronze bushes 48mm od either 39mm id or smaller so i can turn them out on the lathe to suit. 40mm long or longer so i can cut them down to suit. Oilite bushes are too soft which is a shame as they are easy to get. Originals were plastic so i will likely stick with them and turn them out to 39mm id.

Round here the coal mining industry has gone, and now quarrying is suffering the same fate. I would seek out some of the small engineering firms that supplied these industries. Do you have a similar industry that needs this sort of expertise? If so, find their suppliers.
