Nutters

There's new legislation coming in up here in Scotland soon which increases the penalties very significantly and gives quite broad powers to police to seize dogs and gather evidence. I believe there's also new legislation coming for E&W but Westminster has declined to increase the penalties in line with Scotland. Doesn't undo the loss but hopefully it's a step in the right direction.

Our local rural team are at long last getting to grips with this having been pushed by the new Chief Constable.
We had a good ewe teg killed last weekend and while there was a witness the owner of the dog disappeared. Luckily it was a distinctive dog, a Great Dane and with some effort of knocking on doors and social media the culprit has been caught and hopefully we will get the value of the sheep plus some other costs and the owner will get cautioned.

Doesn't make any difference if the culprits (human) aren't caught.

This sounds like someone with a grudge.

Offender profile would be:

Someone with several dogs and with like minded associates. Little or no respect for the law and no moral or ethical compass.

Don't think the list of possible suspects is that long.

I very much hope its not the start of a new sport for these scum. It said in the report that the majority were left in a pile, for what, counting and a photo?
Scum around here have been betting on the most pheasant heads they can collect on an evening with catapults.
