I say get it planted asap. The more out of production the less food there is on the open market which can only be a good thing for us. There is a small farm near me that used to be rented out for silage now planted in trees, my reckoning is if thier silly enough to destroy good prime land then keep her lit get it planted

246 acre next to me just had a solar farm approved so thats one more farm out of production

Na i wish more would plant trees in ground used for milk production as it means less litres. In fairness i can see why some land owners do it as if your not interested in the land why would u want to maintain fences and gates and water drinkers etc,etc plus have some1 in your lane when u can get paid to put it in trees instead. Me however would NEVER plant my good ground in trees

If they are not interested in the land, they shouldnt own it
 
It has to come , I’m all go going green and lowering oil usage ect but you can only do this when things are ok , if you were ploughing a field and your water temp went up you would stop and sort out the issue then when things were fixed and fine you would start to plough again , this is where we are atm,
