Always makes me giggle, remembering the brilliant p!ss take of local journalism in the Adrian Mole books. 'Burly WW2 veteran Mr Mole, 39'. who would barely have been born in the war :ROFLMAO: .

Could have used an empty bottle instead of a plastic bag, cos' then at least he would have been re-cycling.. On 2nd thought'smaybe the delivery driver was female

Why do you think that Lucozade bottles have large caps ?

DHL driver stopped in the yard today as had to have his statutory break.

Nice bloke, had a socially distance chat about organic farming 👍

Was that break imposed by a timer, or was he given enough time to find a loo when he needs one?

I see that some takeaways have been refusing delivery drivers access to their loos (illegally). Most filling stations have loos, but are they on drivers' routes?

I don't know. He said he had to take a break and here was as good a place as anywhere

The drivers that come out here are generally nice, and always speak if they've time. Some are overqualified for the job, I feel.
One delivery driver here drove into our straw truck during harvest 2019 while I was hauling straw back through the neighbouring village. We exchanged details etc, and by the time the claim came through, he alleged I drove into him. NFU rolled over and paid the claim without telling us.
Now, whenever he comes into the yard with a parcel, I make sure to greet him warmly by his name, and ask whether he has had his van repaired yet. He hasn't.
For some reason, he never looks me in the eye.

The rest are a good bunch.

This is appalling from Ocado not allowing short breaks in a driver's schedule .

I never have a problem with someone asking to use a facility or to have their required breaks on the yard it's safer than alot of lay-bys

McDonald's sorry for stopping couriers using toilets

McDonald's has apologised to food delivery drivers after they were denied access to its toilets in lockdown.
It comes after the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) had to remind restaurants of their legal obligations following complaints from couriers.
Fast food chains KFC, Subway, Nando's and Wagamama have also been accused of blocking access to their facilities.
Under health and safety law, restaurants must give drivers access to "suitable sanitary conveniences".
"We apologise to any courier that has been affected," McDonald's said.
"We are sorry to hear that on some occasions this guidance has not been implemented, and we will be reminding our restaurant teams about the policy."

Not sure what you all expect really. You all buy on price, every other link in the supply chain has moved abroad because of it, factories abroad lock their fire doors to stop workers having a break, it's the Victorian workhouse of today providing you with cheap. All this courier stuff is doing is making sure that the final link in the chain operates to the same standards. Don't like it, change your shopping habits.
