Worthwhile sending in an email, headed with the RHI number, to [email protected] with a photo of the meter reading and explanation if you get the submissions exception message when you fill in on line. When you get that exception message the approval automatically has to go through a separate channel to a second reviewer. They can request a photo of the meter, having done so it drops to the bottom of the pile and has to work its way back through once you have sent it. Pre-empting this can help things and shows that you are on the ball and haven't made a mistake in the reading. Having said that, entries with submissions exceptions are frequently at least 6 weeks before approval, whatever you do..

Or if different to same period last year maybe ???

Yes. That is one example of a "submission exception query". It shows up on the online submission form when you enter the readings and press the "calculate" button. You have to enter a reason before it allows you to submit. This is what triggers the additional checking and can cause delays.

good tip. Shouldnt be a problem next year, cant be in the workshop much more unless i put a bed in there.

I think it's an automated system. We had a problem with the boiler and it was offline for awhile the reading was lower than usual and we also had the question asked.
