Looking for a hand pump type dispenser for ep90 gear oil.
Every machine I get in has an oil change and the gearbox fillers are often on the side or some other stupid place that you can't get a little funnel in. Then the gear oil takes forever to run in.
Thought one of these was perfect but says it only for up to 40 grade oil.
Anyone used one?

I made up a unit many moons ago out of a lorry air tank, stood it up, put a 2" filler cap on the top of it and a 1/2 port on the bottom with a ball valve and about 2m of 10mm nylon pipe on it.
I put a 1/4 port on the top with an air regulator set to about 15psi.

Fill it up with gear oil {about 8L max}, screw on the filler cap, stick the 10mm hose in the gearbox, plug in the air, open the ball valve and stand back n relax while it dose the work.
Made it up from stuff lying about, it's one of the handiest things in the workshop.

I'm afraid I'm not going to do Dave any favours here but that's actually worth a lot of money lass.
I have a shell one here that's similar, I'm never going to use it or I wouldn't sell it either but if I was selling it I'd ask between 4 and 5 hundred........
It was going in the scrap can when the yard got cleared, got left behind and forgoton

Have a search for vintage oil dispenser on eBay.... ..
Ya might be glad it was forgot.
But then again, maybe I should be telling this to Dave as you've given it to him about four posts ago.

If Dave plays his cards right here he could make up my solution for about twenty quid and go on a free week's holidays in the sun off the back of the dispenser sale...
Win, win, win I say....

I don't mind what ye do.

Altho if you buy yon sealey to pump gear oil your fonder of hard work than I am, I let the compressor do the work about here on that one.

I was going to do as tinman did but use a gas cylinder. Pour in the amount you need, screw top in and blow the oil into gear box.

I use air to lift oil out of 45 gallon drums (only a small amount of pressure) made a screw in fitting that has a 25 MM. pipe down to the bottom of the drum and a wee hole in the side of the cap to blow in air. Lifts oil out no prob.... But you need to be careful not to burst the drum with too much pressure

if i had to make one again id leave it 10L but its not too often id fill a box needing more in one sitting.
altho the gas cylinder would be grand for the job, indeed there used to be the half type gas cylinders which id say would be spot on for the job.
failing that a bit of pipe and cap both ends of it would suffice.

mine is no Marylin Monroe but it dose the job.

Done the same with and old propane bottle and have it on a sack barrow. Charge it up and cart it away to whatever needs some oil.
