Oil question

I need a new barrel of oil for my tier 2 Massey 6470, usually use Morris oil but have used Castrol last time so not up on latest specs, and in the past have had liquimatic JDF. After speaking to a local contractor he says I should be using super versitrac 10w-40. After looking on the Morris website liquimatic jdf is MF 1143 approved and also MF1135 and MF1145 and API GL4 and the Versitrac is MF1145 aproved an MF1139 and MF1144 and API CG4.
Here lies the question, Morris oil recommends the versitrac for 6470 upto 2006 so tier 2 and liquimatic JDF for sisu tier 3 from 2007 onwards, why when the backend is the same? My operators manual recommends MF1143. I would prefer to use liquimatic JDF as it also meets jd20c specs so I can use it in my handler to save buying multiple oils an simplify things but is it really suitable for the massey. Massey have changed their spec of oils in their own drums which is made by Morris for a vastly inflated price. I use to use it since I’ve bought it new and I use to use 10-30 which they sold was 1143 approved but they now only sell 1145 approved oils.

CMS 1145 approval is the successor to 1143, and covers all what 1143 did.
You can get 1145 approved oils in 10w/30 and 10w/40 grades.
MF recommend 1145 10w/40 grade in dyna 6 and dyna VT transmissions, and is no problem to use in dyna 4 if you wish.
CMS 1145 specification is for a SUTTO oil, so therefore should not claim J20C as that is a UTTO ( no engine spec’ ) not that it would cause any issue.
Your contractor mate has probably only seen the Super Versitrac 10w/40 in his dealer, as the MF dealers around here only stock that grade now in MF branded cans.

Yea that’s all my Massey dealer stocks now, that’s what they recommend now for dyna 6 but a 1145 wasn’t available in 2007 so back then they recommended a 1143 so it should still be suitable. My contractor gets his versitrac direct from Morris but it’s the same as the Massey oil without the price tag.

Morris lube selector is full of errors and inconsistencies just like this.
I look at it but never trust it!

Morris JDF is an UTTO and is suitable mor majority of tractors. The only thing I find with it is that it has a thicker viscosity than a lot of water like UTTOs but woukd only maybe show up as a problem if you were up in North of Scotland and up before dawn!!!
