Ok, Redbacks are good.

Thinking of treating myself to a pair of pull on boots, probably Redbacks, due to reputation on here, but is there a British made boot in the same league for comfort?

Just feeling patriotic!
Thanks.

I don't know what colour you'd call these now

I've had redbacks and buckler, the buckles are heavy in comparison. My first pair of redbacks lasted 2 years but my second pair only lasted just over a year. Both pairs the sole broke up and leaked water, I don't think the are built like they use to be so have gone back to trying buckler hybrid ones, a dealer boot with laces, best of both worlds.

I have Hoggs of Fife to fly the flag for Scotland.

Great solid work boots but they feel like they weigh about 5kg each

My Blundstone, by comparison, feel as light as feathers and are my preferred choice for “run abouts”.

Boots tend to last me yonks as I mostly wear wellies.

You are right; the soles of Redback boots are the weak point. But i put up with it as the comfort is second to none.

The heels colapsed on mine menaing I was walking oddly and that buggered my back after a while. The blundstone's soles seem to be harder wearing and they are equally comfortable. Time will tell I guess.

Suppose they don't owe you too much then?
Seem about £100 on some farm supply websites.
I suppose they didn't.
Can't remember why I swapped to Redbacks from the Rossi's I had before as I don't think I'd worn them out.
Got a pair of Blundstones last Christmas and they seem good, although I've only worn them for best so far. Must say the main thing I've noticed between the brands is that the Rossi's and Blundstone's take quite a bit of breaking in whereas I could wear the Redbacks straight out of the box.

And that is exactly why I chose Blundstone over Redbaack when I tried both on in agriparts earlier this year.
