Old digger - Hitachi UH052

Have an old digger that's been left outside here, 10T UH052. It's been parked up for at least 10 years but was believed to be working up to that point.

Cabs not in a good state but the rest of it is ok... is it worth anything in parts or best just to scrap it? What sort of value? Haven't tried to run it or start it, even if the engine starts I imagine the tracks are seized.

Always worth something to somebody. Hoses are likely perished and was there antifreeze kept in the engine? Rams rusty or still ok?
If it was me.... I'd check the fluids and get a battery in it and see what happens. Might surprise you how useful it could still be...

If you could get it running, that would at least double its value? Telling someone "it was going" isn't going to gain you much ground. Even to load it will be expensive if its a non runner.

At least a couple of grand for the parts, but hopefully a lot more running.

I bought a JCB 805b about 20 years ago, it was green, sitting under trees, battery bled it and it started, most things were very stiff or seised, pipes were fine, I was later told it hadn't been started in 7 years

Try get her running and leave it just above tick over for half hour before trying the hydraulics keeping a eye on the temp gauge if it works .Lift each track and see if she spins them with no nasty noises .She maybe worth keeping as said above

Hitachi have got a good reputation I have an ex30 and people still make me reasonable offers for it even though its ancient.
