........and let the young guns have a go with their " new " ideas, Joel Salatin books , Nissan Navare pickups full of leccy fencing gear, lavender soap niche markets, PYO quinola , and carbon sequestering dung beetles.

Or......

Let the doddering old fools potter about till they want to retire, and get your own chuffing mortgage and buy your own bit of chuffing land.

Young folk with sound ideas and good stockmanship have always been given a bit of free-reign.

It's the clever-clogs know-everythings that need keeping on a tight reign. And when it come to horses, I can spell traces, but I've forgotten how to spell the things you steer them with - rains, reins, reigns???? Even the washing line can be used in an emergency.

Hmm, progressive.
Trite saying, with a twist.
If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got (except you won’t when bps disappears). 😀
No business can afford to dodder about standing still unless you are so independently wealthy it doesn’t matter.

Rather than chuffing off. Perhaps they could stop going on about how good things used to be. How much cheaper machinery was, fertiliser. How much more they got paid for produce.

How they can't do things safely on the farm because they can't afford to.

It doesn't really help anyone listening to all of the above. If the younger generation can make a living with current prices let them get on with it.

Stop arguing with them.

Old folk who retire at 50 to spend the next 30 years complaining and writing letters, sipping tea through sour faced thinnlips, washing their car every day, and existing only to be complete pains to everyone should be fed to a government incinerator. Others all fine.
One of our neighbours retired from the civil service at 46,to be fair is a good neighbour however 46! :woot:
