Hey mate that was my issue, the oring had stripped on the start solenoid. Was allowing fuel to run straight back into tank. Been trying to find the correct oring as ive tried using round ones but no luck . Do you have a diagram or know correct size oring so i can order . It wasn't in the kit i purchased.Id check to see if it has a start solenoid. Some Isuzu 2.8 pumps do. It allows fuel pressure to build up for excess fuel start pressure, then once running it opens and allows fuel to return to tank. It's abit like blocking off the leak off. If this solenoid has no power once engine is started u can't rev up
I was lucky enough to buy an engine with all the bits. Decided to rebuild the engine, new piston rings, seals, plus injectors and a few tuning bits. Be about 200-220hp. Plenty for what I want.I have done the same as well, 2.8 was a great engine but I have pulled it out and have a Cummins siting in its place just needs everything connected up, have you started the conversion, collected all the parts?
