Hi

I just bought an old Moore Unidrill, it’s in great knick but just trying to work out how to calibrate. Can see the trays but can’t work out how to move the seed cup to flow the seed into them and don’t see a crank to move the rotor, maybe just turn the wheel?

If anyone recognizes the model and knows how to calibrate or were yo get the user manual. Also anyone know what the additional seed container boxes are for and how many should be. Thanks

Thanks think I ll have to buy a crank handle to calibrate, presume all same for box unidrills? Anyone know how many seed container boxes should be, 8 with it and it’s an eighteen coulter

Your drill has the Parmieter bow and metering, while later models had Sulky boxes and metering. Looking in the Unidrill manuals they have very different crank handles. I made a crank handle for mine, they are simple enough if you can do some basic fabrication, but that is the Sulky version.

Edit, double checked the parts sections of the manuals and actually the crank hands are similar, but now way of telling from that if they are compatible.

Knocked this up a bit quick when I first calibrated the drill and it is still doing the job.

You have to turn the star wheel 100 times ( doesn't take long) to give 1/10 of an acre. The box is for putting in the drill on individual rollers for small seed such as kale or rape, 8 will be about the right number.

All the seed cups move forward as one and the calibration trays hook on behind them. I will take a pic of the settings later for you.

Thanks a million really appreciated. When using the boxes do you fill them then only and double the drill spacing or fill in between too?

I've never used them but I believe what you do is fill the boxes and use on every other one to increase the width between the rows. They should hook on either side of the feed roller.

View attachment 802552 The tab I'm pointing at pull that in either side and the seed cups will slide forward.

That’s fantastic was wondering what that tab was for, thanks million.

One more question what type of seed pipes to the coulters are on yours, one I got have these flexible hoses. Couple need replacing and I was wondering should put original type (if not this) or if it really matters?

There's a short piece off the coulter, looks like it might of been softened and then put on, and I use Massey drill pipes cable tied either end but I cannot remember wether they were the long or short ones.

Thanks again, I should have copt they were Massey pipes sowed enough corn with one back in the day. Presume robbed pipe shouldn’t be a problem for small seeds such as rape/Swede

When you use it post some pics please, before and after, I'd be interested in how you get on.

Will do definitely, just need get few new pipes and see adjustments on discs & coulters. Hope to get at sowing end of next week have 7 acres for rape, 10 grass and 10 turnip sprayed off to do.
