Rape today is rubbish. Must be nearly 40 yrs ago that Jet Neuf, Bienvenue etc were pushing 2 ton/ac at £360 ton.
Was not called black gold for no reason.
So they never notice the single low seed? We're still growing Bienvenue.
But only because we lost half a tonne to the acre in a storm, and it's still showing as a pale 'off type' volunteer in the same field 4 decades later
So they never notice the single low seed?
Did the old single lows yield better than the latest double low varieties grown now? They will be the old single low varieties that will be high uric acid.
The double low varieties we grow nowadays are a lot weaker that the old ones.
