there is filter supplier in Mid Wales he keeps thousands if you have number of filter he will be able to supply
Hi Just come across the same problem with the same Simms fuel filter for my 460 Did you find a filter?

yes I am sure Jim will be able to help, some years ago he bought the entire stock of a filter maker that closed down, crossland or greyfriars,... 15 arctic loads and that is only small part of his stock, if someone wanted a filter for a machine made in the 1940's I am sure he can supplyunless he has old stock from 40 plus years ago I doubt he will help. it was obsolete many moons ago.

Eye Charnleys told me that they went obsolete in 1988 and to fit their conversion kit at £35 plus vat plus P&P so if I can't locate the element I'll have to go down that routeunless he has old stock from 40 plus years ago I doubt he will help. it was obsolete many moons ago.
Is that what you did then?Hello, no I couldn't find one, that one in mursals link is another type more common which they used.
I think your only option is to fit the later type filter head and pipes.

have?? you tried jim morganthink that's what Charnley's told dad yes, not sure if dads done anything about it yet other than wash the filter out again like he has been doing for the past 20 years since buying this tractor
Dads got quite a few old spares knocking around so he will sort it out in the end, probably mid winter when he's trying to use it cutting logs
If Charnley's cant get it then it isn't available anywhere.
I should have put this first... how do you know it isn't available if Charney's cant get it when you have not tried jim morganthink that's what Charnley's told dad yes, not sure if dads done anything about it yet other than wash the filter out again like he has been doing for the past 20 years since buying this tractor

But .............
As its just a paper element could you get one "close" and just ensure the filter seal sits on a good flat surface top and bottom?
Instead of asking for a 460 fuel filter, ask for a paper element with X, Y and Z dimensions?
It hasn't a very elaborate fuel system so down to a few microns should be fine, don't you think?
Probably not that easy?
