don't try Jim

No need to get your nickers in a twist, by all means try him, if one was wanting to keep the tractor original it would be worth a try, but the fact is there isn't a new filter made since 1988 that will fit so its highly unlikely he will have any.

The later paper filter head can be bought from the likes of sparex and Nuffield then went on to use the more popular CAV filter that's as common as muck so either of these 2 options will not look out of place on the Nuffield and going forward filters will be easy available.

the reason I said don't try jim is I have phoned him and he is doubtful that he has one but I could not give him part number but he did give me another name to try ….. it might be worth giving Jim a call if some one has part number then we will all know.... but do not mention politics!!

Thanks ..............

Well that's a pity, over a paper filter ............

No big deal a copy cav filter head assembly from vapormatic is about £15, they just need to re work a few pipes. CAV filters so common fitted to just about every brand of machine ever made nearly! came out in the 50's didn't they??? that's like over 60 years ago and they are still cheap as chips now!:)

not sure that's what you meant though:whistle: maybe I need to keep quiet:censored:

No, I think @startinghandle was wondering why you found his reply funny ...........

The da wont go for a completely new filter assembly will he? Fairly radical if he has been washing it out and getting away with it, all these years. You'll be blamed anyway, the new CAV head is the way to go, but ........

the paper is just about disintegrated now I think and the rubber seal attached to it for the lid/cover is also perished so he will have to rummage through his shed of scrap soon! (really I mean useful stuff collected over the years he cant bare to throw out:ROFLMAO:)

no idea why starting handle took offence IMO i'm a little confused:confused: cant even say why I used a funny face either:ROFLMAO::scratchhead: sometimes I just click them randomly no ones perfect:angelic:, I don't normally take forum messages or text message too heart, not worth getting upset about and certainly wouldn't bother un watching a thread over it before the person had chance to return comment to the question?

@startinghandle sorry for upsetting you, really not intended.
