Old style Baler twine

Anyone know anything about this make.? or ever used it?

This stuff is very old, a mates father had bought it for some reason , don't think he even had a baler. Mate came across a pile of it in the back of an old shed, so going to get a few balls for the Allis Roto baler.

Moved many 'broken' bales out of the barn, fudging mice! Also came with fordson major starting device.

Yep!!, But in the end could do it on my own.
Stand on the transmission, left foot on the starter handle and rope in right hand then press starter and pull rope like a mower.
Need a he-man emoji.

I think the company changed the name to Sidlaw industries and was used in the 1970's The juteworks closed early 80's

Baler twine would be a bit thick for a roto baler. You need binder twine. I have a rotating baler and thought to try poly round baler twine. Any thoughts?

the idea of a shed of sisal twine would make me cry, mice cause enough mayhem with hay poly twine never mind sisal. on a positive it doesn't matter too much as when the shed heats that much it all burns the same

I don't intend to make a lot of wee bales , but couldn't pass up the chance of a bargain. I do use Binder twine in the Roto baler, but I can't see why she wouldn't work with this stuff.

I admit, that I used to start the major in exactly the same way, necessity and all that. Get one piston past compression and it would fire and run on the second. Doesn't seem like it but it's over 30 yrs since I drove one.
