I can remember dad talking about a local contractor threshing with a pre war Oliver 80, this would have been during and immediately after the war. It would probably have been on "spade lugs".

I have no idea what the difference is between selectamatic and implematic
The one I seen has air filter beside engine

Put simply, for all UK tractors...

Red / Yellow DB's = Implematic.

White, through to the last 1594 made = Selectamatic

The only exception to this the 770, which began life as a red one, even though it was the first to have the Selectamatic system.

Olivers were 850's and 950's made at Meltham and painted green, sold as Oliver's in the USA, head to head against normal DB's as I understand it. There is no difference other than colour and some styling.

Interesting non original front wheel rims there, what are they off? Mate has a mk 1, chassis and wheels are a bronze silver mist colour, similar to French built 595. He also had the last 35x bought into Cardigan by train ( The Cardi Bach ). Wish he still had it. Learnt to drive on it.

They were the only rims I could find, I might cut the centre out and weld in some centres from t20 rims

I see herself took the camera with her ...............
To record amazing spectacle of the stallions running up the Main Street, followed by the parade of vintage and classic tractors, cars, lorries and buses. No steam engines in the last few years though. I miss the Geler Jones museum of agri parafanaila which use to be open to the public in my youth. Anybody else remember it.

A 500 Oliver was a 850 DB and a 600 Oliver was a 950 DB. 2148 DB built Oliver's were shipped to America [emoji6]

All the books tell as you have reported but the photo's of original 600's all show cross flow engines suggesting that they actually were 990's, I have a photo somewhere that shows a 600 coming off production line with cross flow motor, now where is it ? :ninja: you are correct with the smaller one though
