I am using HP2/G2 Omnistar, works ok for drilling but i will probably unlock to RTK for this summer as i find the cost a bit prohibitive at around £620 for three months. How much is SF2 per month now?
I think RTK Farming charge around £500 per unit annually and about £200 joining fee?Not sure if they cover my area that well, but think Soil essentials may work for us.

SF2 is €600 per year. I use SF2 for drilling & find it more than adequate. RTK coverage isn't an option here - no mobile coverage & steep valleys mean lots of base stations required.

What is HP2? Better than HP? What is its accuracy level please?

HP2 as Clive calls it, is Omnistar G2. It uses both the American (GPS) sats and the Russian (glonass) sats.
It is good for drilling etc but requires time to converge just like SF2 and HP etc.
pm me for more details or Topcon info
Cheers

Heard a rumor yesterday that there may be an RTK mast going up on a hill near you that will work with all systems other than JD.

Thanks for all the info. Is Omnistar XP any good? It seems a lot cheaper then HP+ and 3-5" rather than 2-4".
HI Steevo bit of an old post but have just got Quaddy with old ag252 receiver and have to use omnistar. Prices are high and was wasnderingt he same, HP or would XP do for drilling?

We have four units on RTX Rangepoint and that is good for drilling
We had some one in to do some drilling with a new JD tractor and green star it worked ok but he had to leave the field for about two hours for a repair and when he came he had to put new line in and this was a JD Green star this happened more than ones.

What was the JD using for corrections?

I'd prefer referring to the manufacturer's advertised accuracy figures rather than a personal view of sufficient accuracy. The point being that we all interpret "sufficient" differently.
