On board Combine Weighers,accuracy ?

some weighers are affected by the specific weight of the grain and need this entereing as the specific weight changes
others are not affected by specific weight
for accuracy regular calibration is important with mine once a season a few loads per crop is enough

Got a RDS Ceres 8000i between 1% to 4% accurate. I callabrate it by brimming the tank knowing that it holds 8000 litres then times it by kg/litre. Not very scientific but when we have emptied the store it not far out.

Going back over twenty years ago ,the weigher on our MF 38 was very accurate in cereals. One had to remember to fill in the radio active form each year ,the same form as if one was running a nuclear power station !!!!!! Might be a slight exaggeration but there were a few farmers fined for not filling the form in.

Calibrate properly and regularly and our lexion can be very good

However we don’t bother, I use the same cal factor all harvest and get yields from weighbridge and then correct combine map data in gatekeeper to reflect the actual weighbridge numbers
