It’s the lip service that galls.

Should play tennis on Atari like we did back in the day

Latest is " Environment Day " at Wimbledon.
Mucho talk of greenhouse gasses and climate change.
Not so much talk of banning players jetting from all corners of the planet to play silly games.

And I'm sure they could make their balls last a bit longer.:woot:
Don’t worry. A bit of direct drilling and a few Hail Marys will offset it all so they can carry on as usual with a clear conscience.

Jumping on the band wagon could equally apply to RT, two high profile events (Clarkson's farm and now Wimbledon) in a week.

Desperate for exposure and to gain some sort of validation for their existence.

I cant even string a coherent sentence together to express my contempt for them.
The two things are slightly different. Clarkson earns his living from TV and broadcasting. I haven't always been a fan but I don't think he one for jumping on the save the planet by spurious means bull?

Been better if RT had bothered to turn up At cereals and listened to their customers who pay their wages rather than go on about strawberries

It was more along the line of RT seeking to ingratiate themselves with any form of positive ag media exposure. As if to suggest that they were the reason that whatever event or company or person was successful.

Given the spotlight that they are under at the moment, I bet that they would jump on all and any passing wagons if they thought that it would justify their needless existence.

Theres irony everywhere you look really. That stupid earth hour thing where they ask you to turn the lights off to save power.....Here the AFL (Australian football league) jumped on it to be seen to be "good citizens" . Yet , majority of there games are played at night now. 40 years ago EVERY game was played on a Saturday afternoon with NO need for stadium lighting.

Seeing floodlights on at test cricket when the sun is out is another

Mind you, they still go off for bad light even when they are in use

Just a thought,
Farmer A, does all his own work in house, from seeding to harvest,
Farmer B, gets someone to do a stubble to stubble contract for him,

Does this make Farmer B carbon neutral, and cleaner that Farmer A
as like some other firms do this, to offset their carbon footprint

The irony is the types going to the cricket will tend be wealthier and have a larger than average carbon footprint. Many will read the guardian and drive a Tesla so on the way to their holiday cottage they can engage auto pilot and jerk off to their lofty eco credentials "I'm so green, I'm so green. Uhh baby soooo green!" When in reality the travel, pets, consumables and posh houses make them the worst offenders.

Isn't it something like the richest 1% are responsible for double the emissions of the poorest 50%?
It's always that 1% banging on about how its everyone else's fault though.
They spaff carbon into the atmosphere for fun and then pay some peasant to plant a tree for them, to make it ok.

Send Greta, Attenborough and the rest of them on a one way trip to the Amazon rainforest, tell them not to cut the trees down or eat meat and backload the plane with the locals to lift them out of poverty. (y)
Two birds, one stone.

Obviously Farmer B as he can then spend all year in the Bahamas as opposed to having to fly back and forth for harvest etc as Farmer A currently does
