@Woolless there is a video at the start of the link above, I couldn't get it to embed by itself.

In a nutshell, she was REALLY annoyed at being asked about ag payments, payments will not be on time, and the SNP secretly asked for an extension to October for what should be paid by June 30. 6000 claims still outstanding - 1/3 of all claims in Scotland.

Most shocking bit was that no one knew that the government had asked for the extension though. It seems SNP would not comment on it but EC had no reason to play silly buggers about it when asked.

I think we are looking at another £60million x 2 in fines. Think what that could do for the NHS.

More interesting-ness. Tried to go online this morning to do my Ag Survey and got this:

Probably drafted in every poor sod she could find, to get the payments out before she faces the music today. Don't think they'll manage 6000 payments before that though.

Well well, I got a Payment Letter notice. It appears to be that we have been paid the balance due on the BPS (about 10%), and I can't really figure out what the rest is (not much though!). The letter says we are due £ X amount for Greening, but the payment is only about 10% of that. I have looked and looked through the bank statement and the SGRIP Corrospondence Log, and I cannot find a Payment Letter for the Greening balance.

So what is everyone esle finding? It looks as if they paid us 10% but have listed it in the log as Paid, but it hasn't been because there is no Payment Letter.

@skinnyhoskins I suspect you're right - she's used our money to pay her CAP fines.

A good summary on the BBC article - NFU telling her they want money, not apologies.

I am getting by, but I have another income/job. Many small farmers are facing ruin. Banks and suppliers are not happy with "when I get it, you will get paid"!
It is ridiculous, I genuinly believe that they have spent the cash to score brownie points before the elections and need to wait for more cash coming in, before they can pay out. This will run on for years!

To be honest I don't understand any of it, neither do the guys af SGRPID
In Galashiels. We have been paid drips and drabs for 18 months now and nothing makes any sense. I only hope that somewhere along the line it all balances. By my reckoning we are due a substantial amount for last years SFP but not holding my breath

A good watch - Committee questioning of Fergus Ewing on CAP payments. Starts at about 9:58, for an hour. Painful viewing. FE checked many times by the Convenor for waffling. Couldn't answer yes or no. Blame deflection and increasingly red face.

Called out blatantly on hiding information about requesting a deadline extension.
Specific discussion at around 10:45 about poor uptake and dropping out of Beef Efficiency Scheme
LFASS payments, no confidence that they can be made post 2017 and no confidence that the system will fail again when the post-Brexit subsidy system comes on line.

Bottom line - no one, including FE, have a clue what is going on and what will happen in the future (10:59).

And they think they could run an independent country ................

This balls up would have happened under any party leadership - even the beloved Torys!! And anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.

The utter shambolic mess has been created by the untouchable civil servants in Soughton House - the whole lot need lined up and shot.
