Open Office Writer

I have a document written in Writer which had some figures in a table. Wanting to get rid of the table, I have rewritten the figures outside of the grid and deleted the ones within it. Does anyone know how I can get rid of the empty grid?

On my version 4, its simply click 'Table'-delete
Cursor placed within table first

Copy and paste the text into a new document perhaps?
