Managing to get some wheat into bean stubble but quite a lot of open slots. There’s a lot of friable tilth sitting around the edges. Will Friday/the weekends rain wash this in? Should I pre em now or next week?

No, to be honest we don’t have time to change that. The soil was cultivated last year So is friable I just hope some of the soil falls into the open bits of slot. To be fair it’s better in the day it’s just when I’m pushing it this morning/last night.

To be fair though it’s getting better as it dries more. It would be much worse if it hadn’t been cultivated last year I think

Definitely wait with the spray. We had much improved plant populations when we switched from preem to periemergence or 1st crop leaf spraying on dodgy seedbeds. It's a trade off with BG emergence but BG likes bald patches as well, so waiting and getting a thicker crop isn't all bad news on the BG front. The experts say you need to go preem but it really does knacker the crop where soil cover is not what it should be or there is some water logging.

Thanks. I am hoping the rain will close most of the slots up so will still aim for pre em as I had wanted to put roundup in aswell. Bit of a worry!

There are 6 settings. To get more pressure you need to jump the small end of the spring over the little tag. That will gain you and extra three at more pressure. Had to have them on the higher settings to close the slot yesterday.

I’ve tried it on all 3 settings and it makes no difference

Have you tried altering the angle of them ? its a neat feature that we didn't have on the 750a - we have been running ours at lowest possible pressure so far and slot closure is pretty good
