Remember a local bloke selling a disc mower in his neighbour's farm sale, botched repaired it ,and boasted afterwards of the price it went, with welded teeth on the gears etc. The joke is he bought a Krone tedder in a collective sale, and that was a bodge repair ed thing, had no use out of it!
So my advice is beware ,things can come back and bite you! More to life than trying to swindle a few quid!

John was a bit tongue in cheek , the donor has been sat out side for 9 years ,had to cut most ofbolts and studs off as head rusted away , its got some good gears and shafts ,never bothered ,taking gear box off ,just cut top lid so could get into it ,and have taken out two shafts and gears , to mend our 'good one .
Nicely in front with it as when picked it up ,he had the proper spanner ,and nearly a full set of tines for it
And will have spares if any one wants any ,as older 21 spine shafts , not more common 23 spline and bigger bearing ,

I bought a boring head for my milling machine on eBay. It was broken, so I stripped it and did a google search on the make and serial number to see if I could find a spares supplier. Came across a model engineering forum and a thread talking about one with the same problem as mine. There was a link to a dealer so I messaged them to ask about spares... unavailable.
further down the forum he says “if I can’t get spares I’ll stick it back on eBay”
Lousy dirty cûnt of a guy.
99.9% sure it was his I got.

Sorry Will, it's probably a Welsh thing, happens too often around here! Like a fellow Welshman ,who'd seen a bit of the world once said" If you meet a bad Welshman, he'll probably be the worst barsteward you'll ever meet"
Nah its not a Welsh thing.
Plenty of that sort of crap goes on up here too.
Old fella reckons "never buy anything with more than two bearings on it as guaranteed at least one will be f**ked" at collective sales up hereabouts
