could someone explain why my texel lambs get orf a month after weaning. i don,t vaccinate as it doesn,t appear when they are sucking. vet says not to if it,s not on ewes teats or lambs mouths when sucking. lambs are fed blend on the ground after weaning,frobut mineral is available. about 5 lambs in 100 hundred have it,ii does clear up in time, antibiotic spray is used. never used to happen with coloured hesded lambs ,mule or suffolk.vet suggests genetic reason,white headed sheep. any views on this.
