I've got it in my lower back, I just put up with it. If I need to take painkillers I do. There's no point in being brave and miserable! It's amazing how many times you drop something when you can't get down there to pick it up!

Cod liver oil tablets and maybe curcumin or turmeric tablets as these last 2 work as anti inflammatorys but only one of them .
Try acupuncture as it can help .
Buy a top notch pillow to better support your neck at night as that's approximately 1/3 or 1/4 of your day.

I had a bloke get me an inflatable collar off the net, was only a few dollars and it is really good to get the weight off it for half an hour while tea is cooking, if I lie down I want to have a nap about then...
'Inflatable traction collar' it's called - I can ask him what site if you want one?
Flax seed oil - kelp tablets (y)

I take the cod liver oil capsules, I don't know if they work but they don't do any harm.i did try turmeric in tablet form, I didn't notice any difference. The doctor gave me naproxen tablets for painkillers, I didn't get more when I ran out, my brother (a charge nurse) said they can do nasty things to your stomach lining if they're not given with some other drug which I hadn't been prescribed. I didn't fancy that so I make do with paracetamol.

Naproxen is an antiinflammatory and not a pain killer and yes it's a dreadful drug as it will mess your stomach Iining up bigtime and lead to internal bleeding. I took it for 18 months and even tho I stopped after an operation in early July I am still not 100% ok with my stomach and most of the time I was talking the gut lining drug as well.

My orthopaedic surgeon says that acupuncture works in direct proortion to the cost. I think he's being a bit cynical! On the other hand, I sold a dog to a Chinese vet years ago and we've remained friends ever since. He assures me that traditional Chinese medicines do work. As he is a very intelligent man, I'm inclined to trust him but haven't tried his remedies yet! Maybe later. I'll report back then.
